So, 5.45x39 caliber certification become most unexpected and commented news, because past days this caliber was closed for civil gun owners. And first model certified for this caliber– “Saiga 5.45”. Let’s examine one of this rifle components - Saiga 5.45 magazine. It consists of next parts:

1. Case.

2. Floor plate.

3. Retainer.

4. Spring.

5. Follower.

From factory Saiga 5.45 magazine have a capacity of 10 rounds. Black case made from shockproof plastic with stop at 10 rounds capacity. To eliminate possibility of round fall out sidewalls have special lips and small lugs for follower. Hook and projection at front and rear sides allow to “fasten” magazine to receiver. Special opening at the rear side allows operator to control amount of ammo. Ribs on side walls increase case hardness.

Floor plate with slot for retainer plate covers bottom of magazine case. Spring itself with retainer plate and follower are mounted inside of magazine. Special lip on the follower right side allows it to hold on top of spring. Special lip on follower allows arranging rounds in magazine chequerwise.  At the bottom of the plate is  permanently fixed retainer plate which not allows foot plate move sidewise.

Some rifles has Saiga 5.45 magazine, made from metal. Technically they are identical to plastic ones. Weight of plastic magazine – 230 g.
