Quick-release mount is used for red-dot scopes with Weaver rail. Made from high-strength aluminum alloy. Retaining clamp is made from steel.
This system provides two main advantages for “Saiga” owners:
-Quick removal and installation of the scope without tools required.
-Re-installation without zeroing required.
Advantages of quick-release mount
-Small weight (182 g).
-Check piece not required. Weaver rail is not extends over carbine top receiver. Gap over receiver is only few millimetres. Part is not prevents weapon handling.
Weaver rail length, selected by manufacturer, is rational – 170 mm. With this quick-release mount can be used all red-dot scopes with Weaver rail and also the sighting systems with magnifier.
Can this quick-release mount be used on the carbine without dovetail mount?
Dovetail mount — is an option, additional gear. Quick-release mount can be installed on carbines which are not equipped with rail. To do this frame bracket is required.
Dovetail mount is reliable when it securely installed on receiver. It can be done with drilling machine, tap (usually M4) and 3 bolts.
On some carbines bracket can be installed with top Weaver rail shifted aside, like in sniper versions.
