The spring performs the function of bringing the bolt group into a combat position, after the next shot, on self-loading automatic rifles with the energy of powder gases and a special piston, the bolt frame is shifted back, and the spring pushes back, in the process a new cartridge is captured and the bolt group is ready to work again. On svt and avt rifles, the return spring consists of two parts that are mounted on the guides. If necessary, replacement is carried out as follows:
- remove the receiver cover
- turn the return spring key
- taking the shutter group back, turning and moving forward, remove
- remove the spring
